We Help You Get Grant Ready
Grants aren’t awarded based on writing alone—they’re awarded based on readiness. I help you understand what funders are really evaluating—your structure, your alignment, and your ability to deliver results. Each service is designed to move you from where you are now to where you need to be, so when you apply, you’re doing it the right way—with a real chance of getting funded.
What You Can Expect When You Work With Me
I don’t believe in guesswork, and I don’t believe in chasing funding just to say you applied.
When you work with me, you’ll get a clear, honest assessment of where you are and what needs to be fixed before you pursue grants. I focus on readiness, structure, and alignment—because that’s what funders actually look for.
If you’re ready to do the work, I’ll show you exactly how to move forward step by step. If something isn’t ready, I’ll tell you that too.
My goal isn’t just to help you apply for funding. It’s to help you become the kind of organization that funders trust to invest in.
A Different Way to Think About Funding
If you’ve ever felt like grants are confusing or inconsistent, you’re not alone. But the process isn’t random.
There are clear patterns behind funding decisions—what gets funded, what gets passed over, and why.
Here, I break those patterns down in a simple, practical way so you can stop guessing and start making better decisions about where and how to pursue funding.

What Experience on Both Sides Has Taught Me
With over 15 years reviewing federal grant applications—and more than a decade serving on the funder side—I’ve seen how funding decisions are really made, and I’m still actively involved in that work today. I’ve reviewed what gets approved, what gets denied, and why. And most of the time, it’s not about who writes the best proposal. Funding goes to organizations that are prepared. Organizations that are aligned with the opportunity. Organizations that can clearly show they’re ready to manage and deliver results. That’s why I don’t focus on writing alone. I help you build the structure behind your application—so when you apply, you’re not guessing. You’re approaching funding in a way that makes sense from the funder’s perspective.

Led by Experience. Supported by Structure.
This work is led by Carolyn Dillard, The Grantologist®—bringing decades of experience in grant strategy, federal review, and funding oversight.
But strong results don’t come from one person alone. Behind the scenes, systems, tools, and structured processes support every step—from client intake to tracking, alignment, and readiness.
This isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach. It’s a guided process designed to help you move from where you are now to where funders expect you to be.
